Junee Shire Council is a body corporate of NSW, Australia – being constituted as a Local Government area by proclamation and is duly empowered by the Local Government Act (LGA) 1993 of NSW.

Council’s Statutory Charter is specified in Section 8 of the LGA and includes:

• carrying out activities and providing goods, services & facilities appropriate to the current & future needs of the Local community and of the wider public,
• responsibility for administering regulatory requirements under the LGA and other applicable legislation, and role in the management, improvement and development of the resources of the local government area.
