All Councils are expected to comply with these Guidelines. Liquid Trade Waste is defined as any discharge to a sewerage system other than domestic waste from a hand wash basins, showers, baths or toilets.

Local businesses need to be aware that Under Section 68 of the Local Government Act 1993, a person wishing to discharge liquid trade waste to a Council’s sewerage system is required to obtain an approval from Council.
